UCM RemoteConnect Overview
UCM RemoteConnect, a part of the UCM6300 Ecosystem, is a cloud service that works with the UCM6300 series IP PBXs. UCM RemoteConnect allows companies to create a secure, easy-to-manage communication solution for remote workers and devices. Network administrators can configure, organize and manage every aspect of UCM6300 devices from the cloud via UCM RemoteConnect. This cloud service provides automatic NAT firewall traversal that securely connects remote users to the IP PBX. The cloud service provides reliability by running on Amazon Web Services (AWS), while offering zero-touch configuration and IT-friendly management. Since it is integrated with the Grandstream Device Management System, each company can control and customize its network in one central location. UCM RemoteConnect provides a seamless experience by connecting users’ devices to the Internet, allowing companies to connect.
Getting Started and Features Overview
After purchasing your UCM6300 IP PBX, you will be able to set it up quickly via UCM RemoteConnect. To access the service, you must first visit the GDMS platform to access UCM RemoteConnect service plan information. The UCM RemoteConnect plan offers the following features:
- UCM6300 IP PBX Management
- Automatic NAT Passthrough
- Compatibility with Grandstream Wave & Wave Web Application
- Managing a UCM6300 IP PBX with UCM RemoteConnect
After adding your new UCM6300 device to GDMS, the current beta plan for UCM RemoteConnect will be assigned to the IP PBX. When UCM is added to GDMS, all SIP extensions will be synchronized automatically for users to manage. All UCM features can be modified and managed all over the cloud, allowing IT teams or installers to customize every aspect of the UCM6300 IP PBX network. UCM RemoteConnect also allows users to view call detail reports as well as remote call statistics and save them in the web GUI. Using GDMS, SIP peer circuits can be configured between two UCM6300 IP PBXs.
Automatic NAT Traversal and Connect Remote IP Phones
When UCM is added to GDMS, automatic NAT pass-through, SIP extension synchronization, and basic statistics are available without manual configuration. UCM RemoteConnect allows users to create secure remote connections to UCM. Media NAT traversal provides an automatic NAT traversal service for users to make calls and attend meetings from an external network without NAT issues. Connecting of remote IP phones can be completed entirely in the cloud using GDMS. After the endpoints are added to GDMS, they can be connected with UCM IP PBX.
UCM RemoteConnect and Grandstream Wave Application / Web
In the Grandstream Wave web application, the user can host and schedule meetings, access and manage contacts, make and transfer calls, and chat during calls. Wave is a softphone application for Android and iOS devices that can be used with the UCM6300 IP PBX. Once you have downloaded and installed Wave, you can enter the meeting link and join from here or log in via the presenter to host and join the meeting.
You can also use UCM RemoteConnect for calls and meetings from your external network via the unique URL assigned to your account using the GS Wave Web App. Users can log in to the GS Wave web application using the SIP extension and SIP registration password.
